Night of the Living Floppy Disk
Saturday, May 1, 2010
On April 26th, Sony announced that they would cease production on floppy disks in early 2011.
This is my reaction.

Poor blender (sad face)
Yeah, I’m going to have to get a new one :(
Nice!
I’d expect the older 8″ floppy would just be a little too watery compared to the juicy 3.5″, you know, since the density of storage was so low.
Should make a funeral video for your blender as well. lol.
@Mark: Hmm, maybe I should blend both together. Could make quite the tasty treat! The floppy was a little pulpy though…maybe I should have strained it first. (And added a few shots of vodka to it) :p
@Brian: Hah!! That’s actually a GREAT idea. :D
I left a comment with *your* comment, but I followed the link over to tell you that your video is awesome.
Do you miss your dear, departed blender? I know I cried for days when my popcorn maker ran off to enlist in the Homestarmy, and I was destroyed when he died as a results of that kick from Strong Bad. I miss you every day, Frank Bennedetto.
@Ron: Thank you, I’m glad you liked the video! (And thank you for following the link over) :)
I do miss my dear blender. That floppy smoothie was a one-time deal…never to be repeated! (With that blender, anyways.)
Haha, I definitely know the feeling when appliances decide to “leave this world.” (Though I read somewhere that Frank Bennedetto has rejoined the Homestarmy…[possibly as a zombie?])
I was half expecting some eerie music along with the Psycho theme on the reveal…but well done anyway!!!
@computerboy2k: In hindsight, I agree that I could have added some cool sound effects! It’s something I will definitely have to remember if I do another one of these mini-stories. :D
[...] Seeing his art definitely makes me feel better about the recent death of the floppy disk (which I lamented in a recent video). [...]
